Posting Information – User Documentation

1. Overview

The Posting Information App displays all relevant posting information directly in the document before posting. For example, you see the posting date, business posting group, and VAT registration number – exactly where you need them.


2. Getting Started

  1. Install the app
    • Install via AppSource or your partner.
  2. Use Assisted Setup
    • Open the Role Center → select „Assisted Setup“ → follow „Set up Posting Information App“.
  3. Setup page
    • Alternatively: Search (Alt+Q) → „Posting Information Setup“.

3. Features at a Glance

Display before Posting

Before final posting of a document (e.g. sales order, purchase invoice), a dialog appears showing all relevant posting information clearly:

  • Posting Date
  • Business Posting Group
  • VAT Registration No.
  • Posting Type
  • Other fields depending on document type and configuration

Example: You want to post a sales order. Before posting, a window opens showing all values relevant for posting. You can check them before proceeding.

Review and Return

In the dialog, you can check all values. If a value is incorrect, you can cancel and return to the document entry to correct the data.

Supported Document Types

  • Sales documents (e.g. sales order, sales invoice)
  • Purchase documents (e.g. purchase order, purchase invoice)
  • Other document types depending on configuration

Multilingual

The app is available in German and English. The language follows your Business Central UI language.

Extensibility

Depending on your system configuration, additional fields or checks can be added. Please contact your partner.


4. Typical Workflow

  1. Enter sales order
  2. Click „Post“ → dialog appears
  3. Check values (posting date, business posting group, VAT registration no.)
  4. Confirm posting or cancel and correct data
